LILIANA MORO: UN MONDO SENZA TESTA

1301PE is pleased to present Italian artist, Liliana Moro in her first solo U.S. exhibition. At 1301PE, Moro will present Un Mondo Senza Testa / A World With No Head. In this work, she juxtaposes scale and introduces elements in a bizarre setting, which take the viewer's gaze away from the ordinary and back to the fairy tales of childhood. Moro comments on adult society by filtering its complications through the iconography of a child. By altering the viewpoint of her work, the viewer is not allowed to remain neutral, but made to stall and change their perspective. This is not to create a world of escapism or comfort but rather to look at these pieces in reality, lacking the innocence and naivete of a child.

LILIANA MORO was born in Milan in 1961, where she lives and works.
